Electronic Devices Help Those With Cognitive Disabilities

I recently read an interesting study (http://tiny.cc/jiuSg) about how people with cognitive disabilities can use technology to help themselves keep organized. It was determined that electronic organizers like PDAs, handheld computers, voice organizers, watches, cell phones and Smart phones can be used to help promote feeling of independence for individuals who have a cognitive disability. Quite interestingly it often appears that individuals who have some type of intellectual challenge have a great desire to learn how to use electronic devices in order to help them with their memory and organization skills. In recent years, various technologies have been developed and cell phones now more than before have been very helpful to those with traumatic brain injury and mental retardation in helping these individuals in school, work, and living environments.
